He/Him
Joe (he/him) is a social entrepreneur and strategist committed to building and growing organizations, causes, and movements. Joe founded The Campaign Workshop in 2009, a 12-person, fully remote advocacy and Democratic political consulting firm based in Washington, DC.
Joe is known for his creativity and commitment to the causes and campaigns he supports. He has produced influential and award-winning strategies and digital and direct mail advertising for a long list of clients, including the Equality Federation, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, Blood Cancer United, United Food and Commercial Workers, the California Nurses Association, National Nurses United, Defenders of Wildlife, AFSCME, NRDC, and LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, as well as many other groups, candidates, and ballot measures. Prior to TCW, Joe was a partner at MSHC Partners, worked at multiple political consulting firms, served as the Northeast Political Director at the Democratic National Committee, and managed Democratic political campaigns throughout the country.
Joe has led in building the company’s innovative approach to four key offerings: strategy, digital advertising, direct mail, and training. Recognizing that each client is different is key to TCW’s success by creating custom-made campaigns and strategies that fit the specific needs of clients.
Joe is a veteran nonprofit and political trainer, including being the lead trainer for the LGBTQ+ Institute’s Candidate and Campaign Training School for over 20 years. In his free time, Joe does stand-up comedy and storytelling and volunteers for nonprofits. He previously served on the boards of Homes Not Borders, the International Dyslexia Association, and The Amica Center.
